Opened to the public in 1901, the Carnivora House was
a state-of-the-art animal facility and envy of zoos
around the country. To reflect recent advancements in
the care of large carnivores, the Zoo has planned an
extensive renovation of this facility. The new Carnivora
House will make its debut in the summer of 2004.
The current Carnivora House is home to a variety of
popular zoo animals including lions, Amur (Siberian)
tigers, Amur leopards, fishing cats, aardwolves and
swift foxes. The keepers offer a number of opportunities
for you to learn more about the animals they care for.
